Music of the Spheres - The September Monthly Meeting | Thursday 26th August 2010

Handily tying in with the forthcoming releases of the next two soundtracks of Murray Gold's music for DOCTOR WHO, we have a meeting themed around the special sounds that have accompanied the Doctor's adventures ever since we heard the first strains of that theme tune produced by the combined talents of Ron Grainer, Delia Derbyshire and the Radiophonic Workshop.

Expect anecdotes from the lucky buggers in the group who went to the most recent Doctor Who Prom (which airs on BBC3 the following week) and a special musical quiz produced by group coordinator Paul.

Also, given the musical theme, it seems appropriate to arrange the much threatened, but never managed MLG Karaoke night for that evening. If anyone knows a good Karaoke night in Liverpool of a Saturday as a suggestion we'd love to hear, but the main idea would be that if we can get 12 (well, me plus 11 others) to agree in advance then it works out a fiver an hour (per person) at the Rat and Parrot for one of their Karaoke booths. I would need to know very quickly if we can get the numbers for that and if you say yes you need to give me the money in advance to make the booking.
